A native of The Bronx, NY, Solomon Rothman was introduced to sculpture and painting at the School of Industrial Art, and studied the masters through years of dedicated experiment and practice at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as Art Students League and Pratt Institute. His early experience as Art Director for the legendary inventor of the graphic novel, Will Eisner, opened his eyes to seeing everything from different perspectives and greatly influenced his fine art.
Mr. Rothman’s work has been exhibited widely throughout the Northeast, most notably in New York City at the National Arts Club, Madison Square Garden, Salmagundi: The Center For American Art, AudArt Gallery, and New York Art Directors Club; in New Jersey at the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton, and a one-man show at the Spencer B. Newman Gallery of the Bergen Community Museum, Paramus. His sculpture, paintings, and drawings are represented in private and public collections here and abroad.
